About Yachay Muyu

Circle of Wisdom — a public forum for cultural exchange grounded in the Andean principle of reciprocity (Ayni).

Yachay Muyu means Circle of Wisdom in Kichwa. It is a public forum rooted in Ayni — reciprocity, the mutual exchange of care and knowledge between people, the land, and the more-than-human world.

Our mission is to create spaces where voices from diverse cultures can meet in respect, share their stories, and co-create paths toward coherence and harmony. Through gatherings, dialogues, and shared initiatives, we aim to strengthen the weave that connects communities across the Earth.

Our Purpose

  • Provide an open, inclusive space for cultural dialogue and spiritual exchange.
  • Honor Indigenous knowledge while welcoming global perspectives.
  • Foster connection across boundaries of geography, language, and belief.
  • Amplify initiatives that restore balance between people and the Earth.

About the Founder

Robert Marcom is an anthropologist, archaeologist, and writer living in Ecuador. Over decades working with Indigenous communities in the Andes and Amazon, they have seen firsthand how reciprocity and shared wisdom sustain both culture and land.

As the administrator and host of Yachay Muyu, they bring this lived experience into a public forum that bridges local tradition and global dialogue, with a commitment to fostering coherence in human relationships and harmony with the natural world.

Why the Name Matters

In Kichwa, Yachay means “knowledge” and Muyu means “circle” or “seed.” Together, they speak of wisdom that grows through connection — knowledge that, like a seed, carries the potential for new life when shared.
